My name is Pamela McLean. I am a NC Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist since graduating from The Body Therapy Institute in 2012. I also have a background in physical therapy graduating from The Pennsylvania State University as a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant giving me a strong background in Anatomy, Physiology and, Pathology. I work with my clients as a team on customized therapy sessions designed to reduce pain and stress and to promote relaxation and wellness. No session is exactly the same with the client's tissue determining the modality used. I use myofascial, Swedish and focused deep tissue modalities throughout the session to achieve the client's desired results. I am also trained in Lomi Lomi massage with my training in Kauai under Kumu Gloria Coppola and the late Kumu Karen Leialoha Carroll. Lomi Lomi consists of fluid strokes applied by the hands and forearms. The flow is from one end of the body to the other with few breaks in the stroke. It is a good modality for facilitating deep relaxation, increasing circulation and, opening the joints for improved movement and ease of movement. This is often incorporated into the sessions as needed. I also use with client consent warm bamboo tools which are an extension of my hand to soften and relax tight muscles and fascia as well as promote relaxation. I enjoy my profession and helping my client's achieve their goals.
My business is based on my teachings at the Body Therapy Institute on Unconditional Positive Regard for all. This is also a personal practice in my everyday life.
